Although this may be true of some real estate agents (and some professionals in other fields), it’s unfair to paint all agents with such a broad brush.
Many agents work hard to build a strong reputation, practice real estate truthfully and uphold their clients’ trust. There are a number of responsibilities that a Realtor is required by law to maintain; misrepresentations, false statements, breaking fiduciary relationships and failure to disclose material facts are all easy ways for a Realtor to face prosecution and lose their license. As I’ve said in previous posts – real estate transactions are of the largest financial transactions you’ll make throughout your lifetime. Don’t choose your agent lightly – interview, make sure you have the same morals, and if you don’t feel comfortable, don’t sign on the dotted line!
